Health Services

 

Health is a major developmental concern. Health problems and poverty possess a cyclic relation wherein each feeds the other. With the rising commercialization of health sector, health facilities are becoming out of reach for poor. Vision 2016 envisages state-of-the-art health facilities on subsidized/ marginal costs to cater the needs of poor patients. Following activities are being done In the area of healthcare.

Al-Shifa Speciality Hospital and Research Centre
 

New Delhi's Jamia Nagar area - one of the thickly Muslim-dominated localities in the National Capital: this area of over five lakh people will soon have a state-of-the-art 300-bed community hospital under the aegis of Human Welfare Trust. In the first phase, the hospital will have 40 beds. The broad objective of the hospital is to meet the medico-social needs of various communities of different economic status. It will provide various services/facilities of general nature to the present requirements of the residents of Jamia Nagar.
The construction work of multi-crore rupees Al-Shifa Specialty Hospital is progressing at a good pace. The structure of basement and ground floor is complete. RCC work for 1st floor is in progress (75% complete). Plaster work of basement floor and ground floor is complete. Contractors for interiors, electrical works, plumbing, air-conditioning works have been identified and finalized.

Medical Centres and Clinics
 

The Human Welfare Trust is running 79 Clinics and dispensaries apart from 10 full fledged Hospitals. Approximately one million beneficiaries avail services of these hospital and clinics spread over length and breadth of India. Foundation stones were laid for two new Medical Centres, one each in Assam and Andhra Pradesh. Construction work at both of these sites is in full swing. Another two medical Centres are expected to be sanctioned by March, 2010.

Medical Camps

  Free Medical Camps is an important activity in the field of Healthcare. The purpose of holding free medical camps is to provide primary healthcare services to the neglected and hard to reach communities at their doorstep. During the year 2009, Vision 2016 organized more than 200 free medical camps and has been able to provide the clinical services and free medication to over 1, 00,000 patients suffering from skin diseases, acute respiratory infections, and diarrhoeal diseases resulting from poor access to health care, unhealthy life style, lack of awareness on health and hygiene and non-availability of proper water and sanitation.

Medical Service Society of India

Medical Service Society of India (MSS) was launched on 15th November, 2009 as a part of Vision 2016 Programme which targets the multi-faceted development of the downtrodden sections of the society. The MSS is established to work in the field of health care in an ethical and professional manner. The inaugural function was held at Hotel Sahil, Mumbai and was attended by various important figures from the doctors' community. Doctors from various parts of the country discussed the health care situation and facilities in the country and also deliberated upon various immediate and long-term measures to improve the condition.

Medical Aid

Apart from above mentioned services, Vision 2016 has been helping the poor and needy patients by providing them medicine and cash for their medical needs. Every year more than 10 million rupees are spent on this account. Approximately 35,000 poor patients are benefitted in the year 2009 under this scheme.
Mobile Medical Units & Ambulance Services

Mobile Medical Units & Ambulance Services

All our hospitals offer free ambulance services. Apart from the hospitals, stand alone Ambulance Service is also being provided in some areas. More than 10,000 patients availed this service last year.


Two new mobile medical units, one each in Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will start working shortly. A new ambulance has been sanctioned for Bihar recently.


Blood Donors' Group, Blood Banks and Drug Banks are established in almost every state and are providing services to the masses without any discrimination.
